On Friday, 19th September 2025, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik (FISIP) Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) successfully hosted an insightful General Lecture featuring Ronaldiaz Hartantyo, also known as Mr. Aldi, the Co-Founder and Chief Business Development Officer of MYCL Japan Co., Ltd.. The lecture, titled “From Waste to Wealth: How MYCL is Building a Business that Saves the Planet,” took place at the FIMENA Auditorium, FISIP UNDIP, with over 230 participants from the UNDIP community in attendance, including students, faculty members, and industry professionals.

The event was initiated by KBK Business Sustainability (IGNITE) of the Prodi Administrasi Business and organized by FISIP UNDIP, with the aim to inspire students to explore the intersection of entrepreneurship and sustainability. MYCL, a company with operations across Singapore, Japan, and Indonesia, has become a pioneer in the fashion industry by turning waste into valuable biomaterials. Mr. Aldi shared his journey of building MYCL since its founding in 2014, discussing how he developed innovative products for a niche market, applied the B2B2C (Business to Business to Consumer) model, and overcame significant challenges with limited resources.

In his lecture, Mr. Aldi emphasized the importance of collaboration between business, government, and academia. He discussed how these three sectors can work together to create sustainable and impactful solutions to global challenges, particularly in the realm of environmental sustainability. He also highlighted the value of strategic partnerships, demonstrating how MYCL leveraged collaborations to build a strong market presence without significant marketing budgets.

Moreover, Mr. Aldi motivated students to embrace an agile mindset and encouraged them to see failure as part of the entrepreneurial process, rather than a setback. He emphasized that adaptability, continuous learning, and resilience are critical qualities for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The event, officially opened by Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.PolAdm., Dean of FISIP UNDIP, was part of the World Class University program at UNDIP, under the World Class Practionaire scheme. This reflects UNDIP’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality educational experiences and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among students. The lecture served as a powerful reminder of how sustainability and business can go hand in hand, and how innovation and collaboration are essential for tackling today’s global challenges
