On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University, organized a Visiting Professor activity as part of the World Class University (WCU) Program under the Marketing Strategy Research Cluster. The activity carried the theme “Leadership Strategies and Team Management to Enhance Marketing Performance” and was conducted online via Zoom starting at 09:00 WIB. The main speaker, Prof. Oh, Yu Gyeom, Ph.D., DEcon. from Woosong University, South Korea, emphasized the importance of adaptive and collaborative leadership in facing the challenges of a dynamic market. He also explained effective cross-cultural team management strategies to enhance marketing performance in the era of globalization.
The discussion was further deepened by Prof. Dr. Naili Farida, M.Si, a senior lecturer from Diponegoro University who acted as the discussant. She provided both academic and contextual perspectives on how leadership and team management concepts can be implemented in organizations and companies in Indonesia. This discussion enriched the participants’ insights by linking international practices with local realities in Indonesia.
The event was moderated by Robetmi Jumpakita Pinem, S.AB., MBA., Ph.D., who concluded that adaptive and collaborative leadership is key to improving marketing team performance, especially amid the increasingly complex dynamics of global competition. Secondly, cross-cultural team management strategies demonstrate the importance of cultural sensitivity, effective communication, and cooperation in achieving shared goals. Thirdly, the discussion enriched perspectives by emphasizing the relevance of applying these strategies in the context of organizations and businesses in Indonesia.
Overall, the Visiting Professor activity ran smoothly and successfully. The activity not only expanded academic insights but also provided tangible contributions to the internationalization efforts of the Department of Business Administration, FISIP Diponegoro University. Through this activity, it is expected that a closer collaboration will be established between Diponegoro University and Woosong University, particularly in the field of marketing research and academic development. With this program, it is hoped that students and lecturers will gain new inspiration to improve the quality of learning and research, and strengthen Diponegoro University’s position in achieving its vision as a world-class university.
