Semarang, Indonesia \u2014 09 September 2025. The Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) hosted the international short course titled \u201cRegenerative Community Tourism: Designing Impact-Driven Models for Culture, Climate, and the Circular Economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Held online via Zoom, the\u00a0 short course will run from 10th September to 8th October 2025, featuring a series of lectures and discussions with distinguished practitioners and researchers from Indonesia, Australia, England, Ireland, Iceland, Uzbekistan, and Portugal, each bringing expertise from their fields to enrich participants understanding of regenerative community tourism from multiple perspectives.<\/p>\n

As Chairperson of the short course, Anis Qomariah, S.A.B., M.Ling., delivered a comprehensive report on the demographic profile of 97 participants. She emphasized the remarkable diversity of participants, who came not only from a wide range of countries\u2014such as Kenya, Nepal, Tanzania, Switzerland, the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Pakistan, and Norway\u2014but also from various academic and professional backgrounds. The largest group of participants held bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees, making up to 67.4% of the total. Meanwhile, the variety of participants\u2019 occupations are lecturers, consultants, researchers, and practitioners. This diversity reflects the global relevance of regenerative community tourism and enriches the short course by fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and cross-cultural learning.<\/p>\n

After that, the opening remarks were then delivered by Dr. Hari Susanta Nugraha, S.Sos., M.Si., Head of the Department of Business Administration. He conveyed his best wishes for the program\u2019s success, underlining its importance in strengthening international networks and enhancing the department\u2019s academic reputation through collaboration and dialogue.<\/p>\n

Concluding the opening ceremony, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), highlighted the significance of sustaining such international exposure. He expressed that initiatives like this short course are vital for building long-term global engagement, enriching academic and professional perspectives, and creating sustainable impacts.<\/p>\n
