The Research School I activity is a form of first-level research regeneration for new students at Universitas Diponegoro, especially students of the Business Administration Study Program. Research School I was held in the form of an online seminar using the Microsoft Teams platform media. This activity invited four expert speakers who would present the materials on the four pillars of research (PKM, Mawapres, Debate, and KTI) as well as materials on Business Plan Competition & Business Model Canvas. The activity was held for three days, namely on September 4, 5, and 12, 2021. In that activity, the participants were divided into groups and given assignments to make PKM proposals and were ready to be presented. This year’s Research School I theme was “Improve Your Self, Build Spirit, Get The Best Achievement”.

Research School I activities in 2021 had started on Saturday, September 4, 2021, which took place from 08.00 – 11.30 GMT+7. The event started with the opening of the event and welcoming remarks given by the chief executive, Dixa Aurika Arnisadhea, Chairman of the Undip FISIP Business Administration Student Association, Muhammad Hafidz Washillah, and the Chairman of the Undip FISIP Business Administration Study Program who was represented by Mr. Dr. Andi Wijayanto, S. Sos, M.Sc. The event continued with the presentation of material on the Student Creativity Program (PKM), Mawapres, and Debates. The first material delivered was PKM and Mawapres which was presented by Tri Hambudi Utomo who was a student of Undip‘s Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture who of course was experienced in the field of PKM and Mawapres. The second material, namely debate, was delivered by Kevin Rendra Pratama who was a student of Undip FISIP and also a Quarterfinalist of Indonesia Varsity English Debate (IVED). He was very expert in the debate.

After the presentation on PKM, Mawapres, and Debate on the first day, it was continued with the explanation on Scientific Writing (KTI) and Business Plan Competition & Business Model Canvas. On the second day, the activity took place at 08.00 – 11.30 GMT+7. The first material, namely KTI, was delivered by Muhammad Khoirul Umam, an Undip Faculty of Science and Mathematics student who also won the Gold Medalist of Global Young Scientist Challenge (GYSC) in India. The second and final material on the Business Plan Competition and Business Model Canvas was delivered by Mr. Arif Bawono Surya who was a professional in training the businessmen. He was the founder of Letsplay.id and co-founder of the Business Owner School (BOS) which was engaged in the field of entrepreneurship development. At the end of the second day’s activities, the participants of Research School I, who were the new students, were given an assignment to make a PKM proposal which was ready to be presented on Sunday, September 12, 2021.

On the third day of the Research School I event, the three best proposals were selected to be presented. The activities on the third day took place at 08.00 – 10.15 GMT+7. The presentation session of the group whose proposals were selected was attended by Mr. Tri Hambudi Utomo. He was the speaker who delivered the PKM material and Mawapres and then acted as a panellist who would comment and provide suggestions.

Research School I activities were organized by the Department of Research and Science of Undip FISIP Business Administration Student Association. It was expected that the implementation of the activity could provide the new students with knowledge on the four pillars of research and BPC & BMC which would also motivate them to excel and make the Undip FISIP Administration proud in the future.
